Founding Designer

One billion professionals spend the majority of their workday in email, an interface that hasn't changed in 25 years. We're building an intelligent email inbox to transform how this work gets done. We don't think another chatbot or plugin is the answer - it's an interface purpose-built for where work already happens: in email.

We're a small and focused team based in Stockholm, obsessed with the quality of our work. We particularly enjoy working with people who are exceptional, passionate, hard-working, and deeply care about craftsmanship. We believe that to replace the interface used by one billion professionals, we need to design an experience that feels truly magical - something that has become incredibly rare in software.

Scape is already used by teams at some of the fastest growing companies in the world. We have raised $3.2M in funding from the world's best investors, including Y Combinator, General Catalyst and angels from OpenAI, Google, Meta, Ramp, Legora and Lovable.

Joining Scape as our Founding Designer means becoming the first designer on the team. Until now, our founder and CEO, Melvin, has led design directly. You'll work closely with him as you take ownership of design at Scape.

You'll lead all things design across product, UI/UX, brand, our website, and marketing. This is a hands-on role: there are no established design processes yet, and you'll create them as we grow. You'll have the opportunity to design an interface that one billion people spend the majority of their workday in. The role is intended to, over time, build and lead the design team for Scape. We're based in Stockholm and prefer working together in person, although a hybrid setup can be considered.
