About the Role
Our customers trust Scape with their most sensitive work data, which makes security part of the product itself. As our first dedicated security hire you'll own and lead security across the company, working directly with the founders.
Security has been foundational to how we build Scape from day one, and this role exists to give it dedicated ownership as we grow. You'll take over programs already in motion, including our ISO 27001 and SOC 2 work, and mature them as we bring on enterprise customers who run serious vendor security reviews.
What you'll do
- Own product and infrastructure security across the desktop app, backend services, and the email data path
- Own internal security: who has access to what, the devices we work on, and the tools we rely on
- Lead our compliance programs: ISO 27001 and SOC 2 audits, customer security questionnaires, and vendor reviews
- Build detection, incident response, and access-review practices that scale with the team
- Security-review our AI features and toolstack: LLM integrations, agent permissions, and data boundaries
Who you are
- 5+ years in security engineering (product, infrastructure, or corporate) at fast-moving product companies
- Excited to own security end-to-end, working broadly and hands-on across product, infrastructure, and compliance
- Comfortable writing code, reviewing changes, and understanding our codebase end to end
- Experienced with compliance frameworks like ISO 27001 and SOC 2
- Bonus: experience securing AI/LLM products, email protocols, or Electron apps
